Jaleo's 15th Annual Paella Festival Kick-Off

Monday night’s kick-off party at Jaleo Crystal City marked the beginning of the 15th annual Paella Festival, celebrating the iconic Spanish dish.
The sangria was flowing and paella pans were replaced every 20 minutes at one of Jaleo’s biggest events. “It was amazing, it was the biggest turnout we’ve had,” General Manager Farhat Haq said.
Customers sipped on Jaleo’s famous sangria as chefs rushed through the crowd delivering huge steaming pans of fresh paella and other rice dishes. Servers walked around with gazpacho and croquetas for appetizers while guests ate bowls of the mouthwatering dish.
The crowd was equally excited about the drinks, including Mahou beer, a classic Spanish brew, and gin and tonics from Caledonia Spirits in Vermont.
The annual paella kick-off party is always a hit, but this was the best yet according to Ray Ferris, a Jaleo server. Ray has been to seven parties and loves the paella festival because “It’s a fun way to expose people to paella, makes them more willing to try it.” Jaleo served more than 20 pans of paella throughout the night.
