Tequila Mezcal Festival 2019, March 4-17: Our annual festival celebrating the unique spirits of Mexico returns!
- March 4: Tequila Mezcal Festival Kickoff Party at Oyamel: Our annual festival celebrating the unique spirits of Mexico returns! Get your tickets online here.
- March 5: Nine States of Mexico Tasting Dinner at Oyamel: On Tuesday, March 5, in partnership with Arik Torren, Founder of Fidencio Spirits, Oyamel will host a mezcal-focused tasting dinner with mezcal pours from nine Mexican states paired with small bites from Chef Omar. The dinner is inspired by Oyamel Assistant General Manager Alan Grublauskas’ recent trip to Mexico to explore the mezcal-making process. Tickets are available here.
- March 6: "Agave: Spirit of a Nation" Film Screening & Meet & Greet at Oyamel: On Wednesday, March 6, Oyamel is partnering with D.C.’s E Street Cinema and the filmmakers of the documentary "Agave: Spirit of a Nation" to offer a special screening of the film about Mexican agave as well as an exclusive meet and greet with the filmmakers and some of the world’s premier mezcal producers. The meet and greet will also feature small bites with paired mezcal tastings. Get tickets here for the meet and greet and screening or just for the screening.

March 12-13: Exclusive Tasting Dinners at Oyamel: Join us for two nights of exclusive, intimate dinners at our 6-person ceviche bar for a 5-course meal with cocktail pairings hosted by Executive Sous Chef Julio Acosta. The restaurant will host two seatings each night, one at 6pm and one at 8:30pm. More info and tickets available here.
March 6: Whiskey Wednesday at America Eats Tavern: On Wednesday, March 6, America Eats Tavern will host their monthly #WhiskeyWednesday featuring a tasting of Irish whiskeys. Enjoy the tasting at the bar and the music of Rock Creek Revival on the patio after! More information here – and don't forget, you can find live music at AET every Wednesday!
March 6-April 18: Lent Specials at Zaytinya: Zaytinya D.C. and Frisco will offer plant-based specials during the Lenten season, the 40 days preceding Easter, when many Greeks refrain from eating meat or animal products. Make your reservations here.
March, Jaleo Disney Springs Grand Opening! The newest and largest Jaleo will open in Disney Springs in Florida this March. The 22,000-square foot restaurant – the fifth Jaleo in the country – will feature Spanish favorites from José’s flagship restaurant in D.C., along with an expanded menu of wood-fired paellas and grilled meats. It will join Jaleo Las Vegas and the forthcoming Mercado Little Spain (see below) as the only restaurants in the country with a wood-fired paella pit, and will also be home to the first brick-and-mortar location for José’s fast-casual Spanish sandwich concept, Pepe. Read more about this exciting new opening here.
March 15: José Comes to New York! Mercado Little Spain Grand Opening: On Friday, March 15, the long-awaited 35,000-square foot Spanish food hall and market, Mercado Little Spain, will open in the new Hudson Yards neighborhood on the West Side of Manhattan! Mercado Little Spain will be home to three full-service restaurants (featuring Spanish seafood, wood-fired paellas and meats, and large plates of home-style favorites), fifteen kiosks (serving a variety of classic tapas, iconic Spanish dishes, and desserts), two bars, and a variety of Spanish retail products – a new culinary outpost of Spain in America. Read more about all the Mercado has to offer here!
March 20-April 14: Cherry Blossom Festival Specials: All D.C.-area José Andrés restaurants will participate in the National Cherry Blossom Festival food and drink celebration. Various drinks, dishes, and desserts will be highlighted over the three-week event. Stay tuned for more info!
March 25, Greek Independence Day Specials at Zaytinya: On Monday, March 25, Zaytinya D.C. will feature a salt cod fritters with skordalia special to celebrate Greek Independence Day. More information to come here.
