Beefsteak Opens at Cleveland Clinic

José Andrés’ vegetable-centered fast-casual restaurant Beefsteak is now open at the Cleveland Clinic, one of the largest and most respected hospitals in the country. The hospital's mission, to provide better care of the sick, investigate solutions, and educate the public, goes hand-in-hand with Beefsteak’s goal of fueling busy lifestyles and a desire to eat well with affordable and accessible good food, served fast.
Beefsteak at Cleveland Clinic operates in partnership with Bon Appétit Management Company and marks the sixth Beefsteak location since the restaurant debuted in Washington, D.C. in early 2015. Beefsteak launched its first location with Bon Appétit, a subsidiary of Compass Group USA, in June 2016 at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
At the opening, José talked about how this location of Beefsteak "will make a huge difference feeding those who are working hard to save and heal the lives of the patients that come to Cleveland Clinic and also those who are there supporting their loved ones. This is truly helping to change the world through the power of food!"
Fedele Bauccio, the CEO and cofounder of Bon Appétit, agreed, saying that he is excited for Beefsteak to “bring plant-forward menus that are good for people’s bodies and good for the planet.”
Like Beefsteak’s other locations, Beefsteak at Cleveland Clinic features bright bowls filled with grains, vegetables, proteins, greens, and toppings. Menu highlights include:
The Frida Kale: Rice, Kale, Black Bean, Spicy Tomato, and Topped with Cherry Tomato, Scallions, Corn Nuts, Pumpkin Seeds, Cranberries and Lemon Honey Dressing
Eden: Quinoa, Snow peas, Edamame, Green Beans, Broccoli, Zucchini, Cilantro, Garlic Yogurt, Romaine, and Topped with Cucumber Salad, Scallions, Sprouts, Sesame Seeds and Lemon Honey Dressing
Beefsteak Sandwich: Marinated Beet, Pickled Red Onions, Sprouts, Chipotle 'Just Mayo'®, Olive Oil and Sea Salt, served on an Olive Oil Brioche Bun
Avo-Toasty: Mixed greens, avocado, pickled red onion, asparagus, toasted brioche, poached egg, sprouts, sherry vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, corn nuts, smoked paprika, black pepper and sea salt
