José to Open a Spanish Dining and Market Destination in NYC

May 2017

In late 2018, chef José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup will join forces with fellow Spanish chefs and friends Ferran and Albert Adrià, in his joint venture with Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group, to create an exciting new Spanish concept at the base of 10 Hudson Yards -- the ultimate gathering place celebrating all things España.

This groundbreaking project represents a long-awaited creative collaboration between Andrés and the brothers Adrià – marking their first US endeavor and creating an incomparable culinary trifecta that will ensure this destination is like no other.

The 35,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor space will be a dynamic, all-day destination for Spanish food, drink and culture as imagined through the inimitable, unconventional creative lens of these three culinary innovators -- a fresh, groundbreaking take on the food hall concept featuring the very best that Spain has to offer.  Guests will be able to indulge in a world-class tapas bar, buy the best Spanish jamon or olive oils, share a glass of wine or wood-fired paella, or take a heady selection of Spanish delicacies to go – all in one place.

“I’ve dreamed of opening in New York since I first came here as a boy of 19!  And I cannot wait to tell the story of Spain to my adopted home of America in this iconic new neighborhood,” said José.   “And to do this with my friends, my mentor Ferrán and his brother Albert…such an honor and so much fun!  Hudson Yards is the perfect confluence of retail, restaurants, chefs, beautiful buildings and architects that all tell a connected story. I am so excited to be coming to this new Hudson Yards neighborhood and help make this big dream happen.”

Added the brothers Adrià, "We have long wanted to find an official way to create magic with José, and now we have it and can't think of a better way to debut in America."

Hudson Yards is an entirely new neighborhood on Manhattan’s West Side, the largest private development in the United States and comprises more than 18 million square feet of mixed-use development. Developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group, it will include over 100 shops and restaurants, approximately 4,000 residences; 14 acres of public open space; a new 750-seat public school and a luxury hotel.
