José Takes Miami at the Annual South Beach Wine and Food Festival

February 2015

Starting today, José and a roster of culinary greats turn up the heat in Miami at the renowned South Beach Wine and Food Festival. José and his team at the SLS South Beach will host the first-ever Paella by the Pool event. Spanish greats such as Quique Dacosta and Andoni Luis Aduriz join José and Tito Vargas of The Bazaar by José Andrés, Seamus Mullen of New York’s Tertulia, Diego Solano of Bulla Gastrobar and Miami’s own Giorgio Rapicavoli of Eating House for a feast set under the stars. With the support of his good friends at Despaña, this event is going to be a truly Spanish sensation.

Next José hits the links at the Celebrity Chef Charity Golf Tournament. With friends such as Andrew Zimmern and Ming Tsai in attendance, the 9-hole whirlwind will include food, drinks and fun in support of José’s charity, World Central Kitchen and SOBEWFF charity, Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.

This year, the Festival pays homage to one of the greatest chefs in the world, Spain’s Juan Mari Arzak. A mentor and life-long friend of José’s and the pioneer of Basque cooking, Juan Mari will be celebrated--along with Ted Baseler of Ste. Michelle Wine Estates--by a stellar lineup of world-renowned chefs, at the annual Tribute Dinner on Saturday, February 21st.

To close out the weekend, José takes the stage at the Whole Foods Grand Tasting Pavilion. Mixing Sun and Sand with Food and Fun is José’s way. And you don’t want to miss it. Now you can visit the SOBEWFF pavilion for a special price with the ‘3 to 5 on Ocean Drive’ offering. Tickets are available to catch José and friends, like Scott Conant and Alex Guarnaschelli, for a special afternoon.
