Fast Company Features José

April 2018

“My wife is always telling me, ‘Enjoy the moment. The moment is now.' Sometimes I get close...But pretty soon I’m thinking, Maybe you’d be happier if you were there, doing that. Then I’m off again.”

Anyone who knows Chef José Andrés will know that he's always on the move, always reaching for the next project, the next challenge, the next opportunity. In a new profile from Fast Company, author Matthew Shaer tells the world about José's high energy approach to life, which has deeply influenced the way he both runs his restaurant group, ThinkFoodGroup, as well as his humanitarian work with World Central Kitchen. From his early days - bringing tapas to America at Jaleo and volunteering with Robert Egger and DC Central Kitchen, to today - opening his newest restaurant in the Bahamas and serving more than 3.5 million meals in in Puerto Rico - José has had quite a career so far.

“You keep fighting the good fight, promise?” a young man on the street entreaties José. “Yes! I will," José replies ... and we certainly believe him.
